The Muuto Nerd Bar Stool takes a fresh approach to traditional timber seating, combining familiar forms with an unexpected connection between the seat and backrest. Designed by David Geckeler, the stool is characterised by its gently curved backrest, which appears to slot neatly into the shaped timber seat, creating a distinctive design detail. The broad seat extends forward with a softly rounded profile, while the angled legs and connecting footrests give the stool a light, architectural presence. Its clean lines and compact silhouette bring personality to kitchen islands, breakfast bars and contemporary dining spaces without unnecessary ornamentation. Shown in a soft pink finish, the Nerd Bar Stool demonstrates how colour can bring a playful dimension to an otherwise restrained timber design.

Lacquered Timber and Two Height Options

Crafted from lacquered ash wood or oak, the Nerd Bar Stool highlights the expressive possibilities of timber through its curved backrest, shaped seat and slender legs. The smooth lacquered finish gives the design a cohesive appearance, drawing attention to the subtle transitions between its individual elements. Integrated timber footrests provide a practical resting point, while the angled leg construction adds visual balance to the taller silhouette. Available in 65cm and 75cm stool height options, the corresponding overall dimensions are 79cm high, 40cm wide and 42cm deep for the smaller version, and 89cm high, 40cm wide and 46cm deep for the taller model. These two configurations allow the Nerd Bar Stool to suit different counter and bar arrangements while maintaining its recognisable design character.
