822 Lounge Chair with Upholstered Seat by Claesson Koivisto Rune for TON

A Contemporary Take on Geometric Design

The TON 822 Lounge Chair with Upholstered Seat brings a fresh, playful character to contemporary seating through its distinctive combination of geometric pattern and curved timber. Designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune, the chair features a broad, softly rounded backrest punctuated by a series of circular perforations, creating a rhythmic pattern that gives the design its recognisable identity. The upholstered seat introduces a softer, tactile contrast to the structured backrest, while the slender legs and gently curved frame maintain a clean, open silhouette. Its armless profile and generous width create a relaxed visual character, making it a considered choice for living spaces, reading corners, informal seating areas and design-led interiors where furniture can bring personality without unnecessary ornamentation.

European Beechwood and Customisable Upholstery

Crafted with a European beechwood frame and backrest, the TON 822 Lounge Chair explores the material's versatility through curved edges and precisely arranged circular cut-outs. The upholstered seat introduces a contrasting surface, with various upholstery options available to complement different interior palettes. Standard timber finishes allow the natural character of the beechwood to remain part of the design, creating a balanced relationship between material, colour and pattern. Measuring 58.4cm wide and 61.5cm in overall depth, with a height of 74.2cm and seat height of 45cm, the chair offers a wider, lower silhouette suited to lounge settings. Its seat depth of 46.3cm and weight of 5.1kg complete a design that brings together expressive detailing and considered proportions.
